Shoemaker - David M.

Muncie, Ind July 21 – The body of Dr. David M. Shoemaker, for 12 years a practicing physician and Methodist minister in this city was brought to Muncie this afternoon.  He died suddenly at the home of his daughter in a Chicago suburb, Sunday.  Dr. Shoemaker was well known in the North Indiana ME Conference of which he was a member. Although he practiced medicine actively, he usually preached Sundays, attending patients only then absolutely imperative on that day. From Muncie he moved to Brookville, Ind where he continued to practice his profession until a few weeks ago, when his home burned down with most of its contents. Disheartened by his misfortune, he went to the home of his daughter to remain for awhile and there his death occurred. The funeral services will be held here tomorrow morning at 1 o’clock in the High-Street ME Church. – kbz
